What is a Cell?
The cell is the simplest, most fundamental unit of life, in charge of all biological functions. The basic biological, structural, and functional components of all living things. A cell is capable of independent reproduction.
Why are Cells important?
From microorganisms to humans, cells give all living things their structure and functionality.
They provide the body with structure, absorb nutrients from nutrition, turn those nutrients into energy, and perform certain tasks.

The Cell Cycle
Interphase
G1: growth, protein synthesis, increase in the number of mitochondria and/or chloroplasts
-
G2: growth, protein synthesis, and mitosis/cytokinesis preparation
Cytokinesis
Cytokinesis, which overlaps with the last stages of mitosis, is the division of the cytoplasm to create two new cells.
