Sovereignty
Absolute authority which independant states exercise in the government of the people
Territorial integrity
The principle that a state has exclusive and legitimate control over its defined territory
Norms
Moral principles and customs- universally accepted standards
Set out by the UN charter
Article 2.1 states all member states have equal right to determine their own form of government thayt can be chosen without outside influence
Article 2.4 sets out to preserve independence and integrity, obliges members to; promote international relations, protect citizens, respect human rights, allow citizen involvement in government
Intervention
States and organisations in foreign territories to end human rights violations, crises and conflict
Includes; economic sanctions like trade embargoes, military personnel, resources, peacekeepers, humanitarian aid
Due to; human rights violations, conflict, terrorism, aggression from another state, civil war, TNCs
Considerations; is it essential, impacts, what is the country like, number of personnel, cost, who should be involved, type of intervention
Nations
The body of people that share an identity, language, culture or heritage who may reside across number of states

State apparatus- the set of institutions and organisations through which power is achieved; internal administrative organisations, education and health provision, regulation of fiscal and monetary policies
There is global inequality in state power but USA and China are generally most powerful in terms of millitary power and population.
States can also be influential in the spread of its ideas and culture
State power depends on economic, political, social and physical factors; ability to exploit natural resources, location, education and demographic, industrial development and trade relations.

Yemen is an extremely fragil state; 177th. Houthi Shia Muslims drove out the government they believed was corrupt. Air strikes in 2015 against them challenge;legged sovereignty. Anti Houthi groups also threaten sovereignty. Al Qaeda and terrorist activity
