They werw organized into family groups or clans. the loyalty to the others members and to the lord of the tribe was very important.

They werw germanic tribes (Angles, Saxons and Jutes)
CULTURE
they was warlike, illiterate, they used onli the riunic alphabet, composed of mystrious characters, not used for writing long record, but only for carving inscriptions on stone or metal

HOMES
They lived on woodden houses, built near streams or rivers. Inthe centre of the village thy built grat halls, decorated with varvings and paintings both inside and outside.

the dialects spoken by the different tribes evolved and became known as Old English; that language provided the basis for the Modern English
RELIGION
At first the anglosaxons warshipped several goods,. This is why the cristianity introduced by the romans disappeared until the end of the 6th century. Then Pope Gregory I the Great sent a moke, Augustine, to bring cristianity back to England. Augustine bacame the first Archbishop of Canterbury. Cristianity spread across the kingdoms. The monasteries became centres of communal life and culture.
The Ecclesiastic History of the English Pope is a very important document: much of what we know about the anglo-saxons is based on it.
