WHEN

They where tribes of worriors, who shared a similar lenguage, religion andculture

They began to arrive from north westwrn Germany in the late Iron
age, around 700 BC, but they setted in Britain between 500 and 1000 BC

ECONOMY

their economy was based on hunt, fish and metal work, but they olso practised agricolpture

THEY BRING TO BRITISH ISLANDS

the iron, wich made de coltivation of the soil easier

HOMES

They lived in small villages or in farming communities. Sometimes they built hill forts ( groups of houses built on the top of the hill, surrounded by banks and ditches. People there lived in huts made of wood with thatched roofs.

THE BASIC UNIT

Of the cektic life was the clan, like an today's extended family

RELIGION

They worshipped the natural elements, like the sun, the moon, the water. They hel their religious cerimonies in the wood or near water. The rites was performed by the druids, the most influential figuresin Celtic society,

the DRUIDS was priests, so they did not go to war but they administrated justice and was responsables of education of the youngs.

WOMEN

compared tu other palces the celtic women may have had more rights and more equal status to men; they coulded choose tha man they wanted to marry and have their own property

HALLOWEEN

has celtic origin. They belived that ghosts and whitches returned on the nighe of 31 October and the evil spirits entered the body of person or animal
