ISTE Standards for Educators
2.1 Learner
Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.
Example of 2.1: The educator sets professional goals for themselves regarding how they use technology in the classroom and stays current with technology being used in the classroom.
2.7 Analyst
Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals. Educators:
Example of 2.7: The educator finds alternative ways to have students demonstrate competency by using technology to design and implement a wide variety of formative and summative assessments to accommodate each individual student.
2.6 Facilitator
Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students.
Example 2.6: The educator will foster a culture to allow students the opportunity to take ownership of their leaning goals and outcomes by modeling creativity and creative expression to communicate ideas, knowledge, or connections.
2.5 Designer
Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability
Example of 2.5: The educator personalizes learning experiences to create individual experiences to meet each student's individual needs while using technology to maximize deep, active learning.
2.4 Collaborator
Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas, and solve problems.
Example of 2.4: The educator collaborates with both students and other teachers to create authentic learning experiences that leverage technology and build real-world experience, even if it's just through troubleshooting technology issues.
2.3 Citizen
Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world
Example of 2.3: The educator promotes positive, socially responsible, and safe online behavior from the students and encourages students to critically examine online resources while still remaining curious, as curiosity isn't necessarily a bad thing from the "Just Google It" Generations.
2.2 Leader
Educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning.
Example of 2.2: The educator advocates for all students to have equal access to educational technology, digital content, and the learning opportunities provided on those platforms which empowers students to take control of their opportunity to learn via online.
