ABO, Rh blood types
ABO(A system used to group human blood into different types. Based on the presence or absence of certain markers on the surface of red blood cells)
-
-
-
-
Major Blood Vessels
-
-
Superior/Inferior Vena Cava: Superior(Carries blood from the head, neck, arms, and chest.) Inferior( Carries blood from the legs, feet, and organs in the abdomen and pelvis.)

Blood Pressure
-
-
Venous Blood Pressure
Changes little during cardiac cycle, low pressure of venous side requires adaptions to help with venous return.
Factors:
-
-
Sympathetic venoconstriction(under sympathetic control, smooth muscles constrict, pushing blood back towards heart.
-
-
-
Disorders of CS
-
Fibrillation(rapid, irregular contractions)
Treatments: Defibrillation interrupts chaotic, twitching, giving heart ¨clean slate¨ to start regular, normal depolarizations.
-
-
-
Congestive Heart Failure(CHF):CO is so low that blood circulation is inadequate to meet tissue needs.
Reflects weakened myocardium caused by coronary atherosclerosis(clogged arteries caused by fat build up impairs oxygen delivery to cardiac cells)
Persistent high blood pressure: aortic pressure is less than 90 mm Hg causes myocardium to exert more force.
