The Five Teaching Styles and How I Can Make Them Fit My Visual Learning Style
Authority style
Pay more attention and listen to details
Take notes especially what is written on the board during lecture
Sit closer to the board and instructor if necessary
As a visual learner I can sit closer to the board to pay more attention and try making mind maps for easy note taking
Most of the important details will be written on the board
Demonstrator style
Uses visual aids, PowerPoints, and handouts
Teacher prefers to lecture, but likes to show students what they are doing
As a Visual learner I can be sure to save any power points or handouts the teacher may provide and watch the lecture.
Facilitator style
Teacher relies heavily on class discussion
Also relies on student participation
Provides prompts and guiding questions
As a Visual learner I can be sure to be in the discussions and ask multiple questions while keeping note in a note book
Delegator style
Their own teaching takes a back seat to student teaching
Structures class around student run projects
As a Visual learner I can try to be more active in the participation since its more of a student leaded lecture.
Hybrid style
Uses multiple techniques
provide opportunities for different learning styles
As a Visual Learner I can be sure to try different methods for taking my notes so I can be listening at the same time
