A great reject towards the royal family appear in the british society. This because Queen Elizabeth II didn´t visit the disaster until a week later, and people though that she didn´t care about victims.

The government was also forced to allocate funds to help the families affected by the disaster, as well as to clean up the site and make it safe.

Causes
One cause for this terrible disaster was that some water accumulated on top of the mountain and since the mountain was filled with a lot of material from the mines and debris, which with a small landslide, the coal material slid away.
Another cause of the disaster was the negligence of authorities. The community ask to the city council a solution for the inundations that were presenting. They talk with the National Coal Borad, but after a year, there wasn’t any solution yet.
Adding, a cause of this disaster was the bad condition the mountain was in thanks to the mine of coal and debris, which makes the mountain itself very unstable.
Effects
One effect of this was that the mountain which had coal remains and water accumulation didn´t resist and make a big avalanche towards the town.
Another effect was that the dead of 144 people, which were 116 children and 28 adults. This because the avalanche buried the Pantglas school and some sorrounding houses.
What was Aberfan?
What happened in Aberfan was that a huge coal dump had collapsed, sending thousands of tons of sludge into the town. The mudslide engulfed the school and engulfed the 240 students and staff inside. The huge dump was from a mountain of waste generated by the city's mines that employed 8,000 people.
