Client Brief Requirments
PEGI Rating
This game needs to have a PEGI rating of PEGI 7 or below
This means that there can be a bit of violence but there can be no realistic or detailed violence
This also means that there can be nothing to do nudity or sex
What The Game Is Intended To Help With
The client brief states that this game needs to have some sort of aspect that will improve children's social skills
Multiplayer
The developer wants the game to be 2 player no more, no less
In this game the 2 players need to be cooperating to complete the game together
These players have to be working together they are not able to play against each other
How The Game Can Be Played
This can be played on one devise (sharing a keyboard) or on two devices (nintendo switch)
This game can be played in real life time (both players playing at the same time), or by taking turns at different times
My Own Ideas (Interpretation)
Game Purpose
This game is going to be made to help with children's social skills.
This is going to be done by having 2 players working together while having to communicate with each other
Hopefully this will help with there confidence of communicating with people as they will be doing it more and having fun at the same time
Game Objective
The objective of my game is going to be to escape the cave while working together to open doors and kill all of the bats.
To gain extra points you can collect all of the jewels that you are trying to take from the bats. However each person can only carry a certain amount so you need to make sure you communicate who takes what
Game Genre & Styling
This game will be a maze / coop game as you will be trying to escape the cave maze and be working together with your teammate
This game will be styled very rocky and grey with some colorful jewels as this is set in a cave in the side of a mountain. This will be quite plain but include quite a few colors just to make it appeal to the children a bit more
Game Platform
This game will be specifically a PC game played on keyboard and mouse. There will be no other way of accessing this game
PEGI Rating
I am going to make this game a PEGI rating of 7 this is because there will be a bit of violence witch is harder to put into any PEGI rating below 7
Target Audience
I am going to make this game for children for 7 and below that are focusing on improving their communication skills
This game will help with this as they are going to have to work together with another person that is right next to them so they talk to them aswell
User Experiance
This game is going to be for casual gaming experience so the user can just relax and spend time with friends playing the game
This is because it will not be helping with your communication skills if you are getting stressed with the game and focusing to hard
Levels
This game will have 2 levels one easy mode and one harder mode
This is so the player can choose whether they want the game to be more challenging for them or easier if they are unable to complete hard mode
This helps it to be for casual playing as you wont be losing all the time on a hard difficulty you can play easier so you are your friends can have a more enjoyable time playing
Characters
For this game there has to be two characters (Player 1 and Player 2)
Player 1
Player 2
I am going to make 2 ninjas where one of them has close range attacks and one has ranged
Enemies
In my game the enemies are going to be bats that are protecting the jewels that they use to become more powerful
The enemies will have more health in the hard mode and they will spawn quicker in hard mode aswell
Scoring system
In my game the scoring system will be collecting the jewels that are across the cave you are trying to find your way out of
Each jewel is worth a certain amount of points but you can also only carry a certain amount so you are going to have to choose wisely what you carry because what is worth more points will weigh you down more
Lives and Health
The players will have one life for the whole team once one of them die the game is over and you have to restart
The enemies also have one life but while they are dyeing more of them will be spawning across the cave
Each of the monsters will have 10 health with the short range player dealing 3 damage and the long range player dealing 2
The players will each have 5 health each time they get hit will deal 1 damage
Time limit
The players will have infinite time to complete the easy level
However on hard mode they will have a 3 min time limit
Movement keys will be the arrow keys and the WASD keys depending on what character you are
