The Things They Carried

the expression to elaborate on certain ideas, poetry, emotions, plays, songs

the confidence or leap of faith that is required to achieve something
Empathy
putting yourself in a vulnerable position in order to deeply understand feelings that someone is experiencing
Black
a song presented to the world that helps raise awareness about how black people get treated and how they are portrayed as to society and how society divides white and black people like some categories but in the end we are the same. It's also to give a brief perspective on what and how it would be like to be in the shoes of a black person.
The Lottery
a story about how there is a box which everyone is afraid of and in that box there is everyone's names (villagers) so everyone takes a turn to take out the piece of paper and the last piece of paper that remains which gets picked, the name that is written on the piece of paper gets stoned to death. Everyone starts to pick up rocks and throws the stones at them.
This symbolises how in life everybody just follows everyone like we are robots following the government and not questioning the whys and the hows and the reasonings behind their laws and regulations.
