Organisational structure

ICCA’s passionate and dedicated staff and the connections we have with all other members. We feel there is a culture of respect and solidarity, at least at the international level.

General Values // From IPLCO

The Consortium incorporates recognisable elements of other social movements into its organisational culture, but a distinctive emphasis within internal governance is placed on the cultivation of values (humanitarian, solidarity, diversity, respect and social justice) and the promotion of deep links between its Members. In this sense, with the acquisition of membership the members of the Consortium not only manage to articulate their specific struggles, but also become part of a "family", and of a broader and positive project, which aspires to global transformations and changes.

We like that the main thing is working with ICCA, various territories and their local management practices for the conservation of biological and cultural diversity, for conservation of Mother Earth and resilience for the future.


Very important that whis kind of work will be usefull for capasity building and training of Indgenous Peoples and strengthening of the communities and ICCAs, their recognition and support.

ICCA has remained a great platform in terms of developing and delivering common messages among members and beyond in particular ICCA`s normative work (standards, policies, best practices), or complex and emerging issues, through a process of common understanding and dissemination of agreed positions;

understands about different cultures and world views, we can say that the communication used by the consortium to reach different territories, different languages and different cultures.

The Consortium is a network that interacts, articulates and generates synergies for the recognition and strengthening of ICCAs through a wide range of organizations and individuals and their diverse capacities.


From a plural and inclusive vision it has been able to find the balance between the diversity of languages, cultures, histories, world views and value systems of the ICCAs and from that point promote and strengthen them.

An open network, involving many parties as the member including IPLC.. The organisational culture was very overwhelming, very inclusive that give every body chances to deliver their ideas and aspiration, open for new ideas..

An inclusive culture for all indigenous peoples, it allows us to value that also within the indigenous nations there is diversity in the peoples that integrate it but that have a single purpose which is the respect for the peoples and their ways of conserving their resources.
