Air France Flight 447
Workplace
Dead Zone when the aircraft leaves the Brazilian Atlantic Radar, leaving them without communication outside the plane.
The A330 was forced to enter the storm cloud as the air was too thin for the aircraft to operate in and left them without the option to go above and avoid the environmental hazard.
Airspeed indicators displayed false readings minutes after they entered the storm cloud and activated the Anti-icing System.
-
When the Auto-pilot disengaged when Pierre took over the main controls of the plane, it caused the plane to roll slightly to the right as an effect from the turbulence.
When Pierre attempted to correct the roll to the left it caused the aircraft to roll between the left and right without levelling out.
Pierre over corrected, then positioned the control stick into the nose up position
-
The A330 was a new aircraft addition to the Air France fleet, with new automated technologies.
