III - 9 any other suggestions of how to improve our communication with you?
Provide capacity building in communication (4)
We assume that developing an ICT tool as a communication mean will help ICCA members in many way
improving communication with local level
build trust
it is important to strengthen direct communications with indigenous and LC leaders and the team, as these are more "natural" means of communication and involve
(2)
Perhaps in that line one can think of other personalized forms of dialogue and exchange through "video message" type formats. From the Consortium, video messages can be sent on specific relevant issues, which could be easily disseminated among indigenous leaders, who, in turn, could respond to the Consortium directly through other video messages
enhance communication via the region (3)
The regional ICCA groups should be those primary in charge of communicating with ICCA custodians communities and organisations in their own regions
I am more concerned about communication with communities, there is work to be done there. Perhaps send shorter, graphic communications that will facilitate communication from regional coordinators to members with whom there is more direct, personal contact.
give a role to national focal point in sharing and giving information
Share with us the references of the other communication channels especially the youtube site, facebook and also integrate us into the WhatsApp group which will allow us, while waiting for the paper reports, to publish our activities with the communities.
communities need interlocutors as they don't have access to electronic means.
Issues to be solved:
:warning:
improve the structuration of communication + insist on reporting on the events that may take place
The issue with the mailing list
The listserve emails are so busy sometimes they can get so overwhelming the individual or official calls for a response from ICCA itself can get drowned out. (3)
A suggestion: Control personal responses shared on mailing lists; privilege more widely spaced emails with strong content
Improve accessibility of the website (I find it difficult to look for information on the website).
Either our organization is not in the mailing list, or no concrete ideas and ideas are formulated. Direct communication received is only in relation to membership fees. It seems that Secretariat is not aware of how we are contributing to ICCA.
enhance personnalized information
Send certain important and time-bound documents (forms, collaborative documents, meeting notices) directly to our contact email address and not just to the general mailing list.
The regular direct communication through, phone, whatsapp and personalized emails is better,
(5)
It would perhaps be good to have more occasions to check in with ICCA core team members and staff.
Improving language
Add portuguese to the communication languages
(2)
Improve the delivery of information in the languages corresponding to each region. (2)
Although the situation of indigenous peoples worldwide is very important to us, it is indispensable that it be delivered in the Spanish language, so as to better understand the information to be delivered
improve the translation into french
there are good improvement, to continue
Over the years there has been greater segregation between logistics, administrative and task related to the secretariat and the general information on ICCAs.
continue with platforms like skype and zoom (especially launched during covid 19
This questionnary is good!
strengthen existing channels
Suggestions for general communication
Could think of podcasts and TED talks on ICCAs
I propose that periodic webinars be held to exchange ideas or share opinions on important topics such as experiences during these difficult times for COVID-19.
Would be nice to have these more unofficial chats where people and organizations can present their work , who they are and what they do. Social media, videos, youtube etc are rellevant here.
Dedicate a month to one or two organizations that are well communicated (with translations) so that they are well known.
Holding regional and international meetings and workshops for consortium members for share their experiences
set up systems to allow members to submit stories
The mechanisms that the Consortium has are useful, but the type and quality of content and use of different media and channels could be greatly improved.
