Extremophiles
Extremophiles are animals that can survive in extremely harsh environments such as high and low pH, hot and cold temperature and even high pressure. It is thought that some of these animals could even survive in space,
Asexual reproduction
Asexual reproduction means they reproduce young identical to them with the exact same DNA it also only requires one parent.
Sexual reproduction
Sexual reproduction requires two parents and gives the child a mix of both their parents DNA giving them more capability to evolve and have slight improvements in their species such as colour for example
Evolution
The genetic change in a species over many generations to improve their ability to survive and thrive in their living environment.
Darwin
Natural selection
Natural selection is when animals better adapted/evolved to their environment tend to survive longer.
Case study the finches
Darwins study on finches show that there were multiple finches living in the same all slightly different. He could tell they had all evolved from the one animal. Some were very well adapted to their environment some weren't he said this was due to natural selection.
