amlodipine
HTN, stable angina, variant angina
hepatotoxicity, thrombocytopenia, AMI, angina
-
Efficacy: decreased BP, reduction in chest pain, decreased weekly angina attacks, reduction of prophylactic GTN for chest pain, improvement in S/S HF
-
Toxicity: S/S peripheral edema, increased HR, LFTs
HCTZ

Cardiac arrhythmias, hepatitis, pancreatitis, SJS
Thiazide diuretic, antihypertensive
Efficacy: decreased BP, reductions in edema
-
Toxicity: decreased serum electrolytes, decreased RF, increases serum uric acid or BG; medical attention if skin rash, yellowing of the eyes/skin, decreased urine output, of symptoms of gout
lisinopril
-
angioedema, birth defects, liver failure
-
-
-
Toxicity: S/S angioedema, severe persistent cough, hypotension; monitor baseline and periodic electrolytes, SCr, BUN, and urine protein
atorvastatin
rhabdomyolysis, tendon rupture
Efficacy: total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglyceride levels; HDL-cholesterol levels
hyperlipidemia, primary and secondary prevention of atherosclerotic CVD, secondary prevention of cardiovascular events in patient with or at high risk for CAD, familial hypercholesterolemia
-
Toxicity: S/S rhabdo (myalgia, dark urine, fatigue) or hepatotoxicity; LFTs performed at baseline and as clinically necessary; serum creatine kinase measured in patients experiencing muscle pain and those receiving other drugs associated with myopathy
-
clopidogrel
acute ST segment elevation MI managed with PCI, thrombosis prevention in arteriosclerotic vascular disease following stoke in peripheral arterial occlusive disease

-
-
-
Toxicity: S/S of bleeding, especially with concomitant anticoagulant therapy
metoprolol
-
-
Beta-adrenergic blocker, cardioselective
Efficacy: decreased BP, reduction in chest pain, decreased number of weekly angina attacks, reduction in use of prophylactic GTN to relieve chest pain, improvement in S/S of HF
aka Torprol XL, Lopressor
Toxicity: S/S of HF, decreased HR; monitor serum electrolytes, and RF at baseline and periodically
