The uses of oxygen
-
-
-
-
Life support
-
Oxygen which is cap in cylinders is used by scuba divers, firefighters and mountain climbers
-
-
Inert gases
-
-
Krypton
Krypton is used in camera light bulbs. Krypton is also used to produce green right on the airport runways
Argon
Cylinders filled with argon gas are used to extinguish fire. Argon is also used in wrapping materials to prolong the lifespan of contents by preventing the reaction with air.

Composition of Air
-
-
The air around us is colourless, tasteless and we can feel its movement as wind.
-
Air is made up of mixture of gases, microorganisms and dust particles.
-
Nitrogen
-
the use of nitrogen
-
-
to make fertilizer such as anomia to increase the concentration of matrix in the soil nitrogen helps to increase the yield of crops
nitrogen in liquid form is used as coolant Blood tissues, reproductive cells and other biological samples

Air Pollution
-
Pollutants are materials that can harm humans and other organism and also damage natural environment.
Most pollutants are the result of humans activities such as burning of fossil fuels and the release of harmful gases and fine particles by vehicles, factories and quaries
-
-
-
Combustion
-
-
In the event of Fire we need to eliminate one of these conditions to stop combustion for example by using a fire extinguisher that contains carbon dioxide we can get rid of oxygen and thus extinguish the fire. This is because carbon dioxide does not support combustion.

Disscussion:
Water level does not rise at the beginning of the experiment because the gas jar is occupied by air. Oxygen is used in the combustion of the candle and the flame extinguishes when all oxygen is used up. The water level rises up to fill up the space emptied by oxygen.
Conclusion:
The hypothesis is accepted. The burning of candle requires oxygen and the rise of water level shows the air contains about 20% oxygen.
