PRESENT PERFECT
USES
-
The specific time is not important. Therefore, we do not usually use expressions of specific time ("this morning", "yesterday", "last year" ...) with the present perfect.
You can use the present perfect with non-concrete expressions of time ("never", "never", "many times", "to", "since", "already", "yet" ...).
-
SIMPLE PAST
We use the past simple for complete actions in the past. The time period of these actions is not important as in Spanish. In the past simple there are regular verbs and irregular verbs.
-
-
The "present perfect" of any verb is composed of two elements: the appropriate form of the auxiliary verb to have (in the present) and the "past participle" of the main verb. The "past participle" form of a regular verb is root + ed, e.g. played, came, looked.
