PRESENT PERFECT AND PAST SIMPLE
PAST SIMPLE :
The past simple is used to talk about actions already completed in the past.
PRESENT PERFECT
Is used to refer to actions that began in the past and continue in the present.
they are used to talk about an action or set of actions that began and ended in the past.

Affirmative
Subject + verb (past) + (complement)
Negative
Subject + didn't + verb (infinitive) + (complement)
interrogative
Did + sujeto + verbo (infinitivo) + (complemento)
EXAMPLE
AFFIRMATIVE
I spent with my family at Christmas
NEGATIVE
I didn't play soccer with my cousins the other year
INTERROGATIVE
Did I enjoy the holidays?
The present perfect is used to express an action that has been performed at some indeterminate point in the past that has a result in the present. It is not important to know exactly when the action occurred.
