Human impact on Natural Environments
Deserts
The human impact on desert could be considered less sever.
-The impact is gradual and not immediately visible to the naked eye and opportunities for human development are heavily limited.
-Natural resources and inhospitable.
-Increase desertification.
-The major issues faced in arid and semi-arid regions.
-The primary cause of desertification is the increase in population.
The main threat from humans is increased desertification.
Desertification is the turning of land into desert.
Grasslands
Poachers are atracted to hunt animals in the grassland to make money selling their futr , tusks and horns.
The diverse wildlife is the primary thing affected by humans , upon the area with poaching and overgrazing being two especific threats.
Many african elephants are masacred , in 2012 at the black market price of rihno horn had risen and even got more expensive than gold.
Rainforests
People need to to exploit resources of the forests to develop.
Deforestation is the biggest threat to the natural environments of the rain forests.
Deforestation refers to the decrease in forest areas across the world that are lost for other uses such as agricultural croplands, urbanization, or mining activities.
Rainforets sources are exploided.
Lost of vegetation and fruits.
Animals are injured because of poaching (it increased a lot).
Tundra
:
-The human's impact on this natural environment has been limited
-Many tundra areas are rich in natural minerals and Trans-Alaska Pipeline, the humans exploit its wealth of resources.
-Environmental disruption to the natural environments of the tundra.
-Some animals and vegetation, wetlands, and the habitat of many fish, birds are being affected.
-The melting of the snow and permafrost due to the heat produced by the extraction and transportation of the oil is a further threat.
-Also something very important is the global warming (the rise the temperature).
Aquatic Environment
Marine Environment
A well know issue is plastic in ocean
Overfishing , to provide food to the overpopulation , the north sea for example is suffering from a depletion of fish stock
The number of vessels operating has exeded the amount of fish available , theres a huge decline in the amount of fish specially cod
He demand of fish has increased because people fishing so often that fish cannot grow and be adults
Fishing is so agressive that they are harmed during the process
Another problem is coral bleaching
Freshwater
The demand fo water is increasing as the population rises.
Water is used to drink but also to irrigate crops
A dam is any barrier that holds back water and is used save the flow of excess water
The vast amounts of land and water required for intensive, commercial farming have also led to the draining of freshwater wetlands
The pressure for more food to sustain the population has led to the development of intensive agriculture in both developed and developing countries.
Agro-industrialization requires the use of chemicals, in the form of fertilizers ans pesticides, in order to maximize growth
