Differentiated Strategies for the classroom:
Medium of learning and participation: If the Ss cannot participate in a certain physical component of the curriculum, help them adjust to or create a separate format to suit their needs.
Offer additional coaching: Some students may simply need more reinforcement from teachers and 1:1 coaching.
Reinforce confidence is student: Esteem and self-belief is key for development, academic and otherwise. Constantly foster the growth mindset, especially in students struggling more.
Depending on the learning disability, consider individualized technology to support the specific needs of the disorder, whether it's a software package or an orthopedic aide for student comfort.
Involvement of Special Education and Parents
Working with school administration and special education department, more accurately identify the special needs of the particular struggling student.
Provide parents with tools for student development at home related to their specific needs. Educate parents on IEPs and public or private tools to support their child's learning their them.
Depending on the need of special education, consider student enrollment in a disability-specific school or support program within their school. Also consider outside, private support if necessary.
