        Students will be assigned booklets with sample problems with step by step explanations
        
        ELL students will be given simplified explanations with no jargon
        
        Good example of scaffolding to assist a student experiencing challenges in math
        
        Students will be assigned Pythagorean theorem puzzles to reinforce and for drill practice
        
        Progress can be easily monitored or guided by the fact
        that students have to get correct answers at each stage to progress to the end of the maze
        
        Special needs students can be given additional time or a shortened version of the maze activity can be provided
  - - - Students will complete a Pythagorean Drawing project
        
        This will serve as enrichment & an authentic learning activity.
        
        Students choose from 3 real-life scenario options
        
        Solve the problem using the Pythagorean Theorem .
        
        Explain in a paragraph how they setup and solved the problem using the theorem.
        
        Draw and color a picture of the scenario
      - Assessment will be tracked by ratings on respective grading criteria on a rubric
      - ELL students can use online or paperback dictionaries to assist them with this project alternatively instead of writing a paragraph , they can give an oral explanation.
  - - - A task card with a practice problem on the Pythagorean theorem will be placed on each desk .
        
        Student complete their card and move to the next desk to the right and are given time to do that problem.
        
        Finally you keep repeating until students are back in their desk.
        
        Students record their answers on their own worksheet
        
        At the end this will be peer/self/ teacher assessed and students will be given a percentage score based on how many answers they got correct
        
        This is how Progress will be tracked
      - ELL students will be provided with vocabulary lists with all key terminology to assist with language issues.
      - Special needs students will have limited task cards to complete , para educators and students will assist by bringing task cards to their desks.
