The TRAGEDY deals with fundamental human situations and emotions: the relationship between parents and children, the desire for power, man's choice between good and evil, jealousy, ambition, romantic love.
Characters usually belong to the aristocracy: kings, princes, warriors... There is always a villain (who does all sorts of evil actions). They are dominated by fate. Tragic ending.
COMEDY

The COMEDY is a humorous play, sometimes romantic in nature and with a happy ending. The structure revolves around the resolution of a confusion (ex. mistaken identity).

FEATURES OF A DRAMATIC TEXT: ACTS divided into SCENES . Shakespeare's plays are usually divided into 5 acts
Introduction, development, crisis or turning point, complications, ending resolving the difficulties.
