Slavery has made living for the slaves very hard to bear. Everywhere they went they were condescended upon, the Dutch tortured them if they didn't comply with what was required of them or their given commands. The slaves worked from sunrise till sundown, they were never given any rights. They were shown no respect and they were recognised as helpless, worthless, and as property. They could not have fun with their families. They were treated like animals as if they had no dignity. They had to clean up after the slave owners, they were shouted at and whipped if their work was not up to the standards of the Dutch. The lives of slaves were blatantly disregarded for and they were seen as low-lives. They were abused and violated, women were raped and they could not do anything about it because the Dutch were superior. Slavery has made a big impact on people's lives, it reminds us to never treat others in such a horrible manner, it reminds us of how despicable people were back in the early times, how brutal and unfair racism was. As a result, slavery has made an influence on racism humans and this had caused apartheid, a period in time where black people were fighting for their rights, rights that they deserve. Apartheid had the inspiration of slavery and that non-whites were of no importance. Today slavery is banned all across the globe, but unfortunately, there are still people being used as slaves. They are being kidnapped and sold to the highest bidder for work.
