Weather changes, Sea-life decline, Ocean acidity, Temperature increase,…
Weather changes
-
Causes: The warming of the Earth, Increased moisture in the atmosphere, The ocean warming
Consequences: Heavy rainfall, floods, decreasing quality of water and its availability
Example: There has been a long-term increase in extreme fire weather and in the length of the fire season across large parts of Australia since the 1950s.
Sea-life decline
-
Causes: Driving all these trends are humans actions: from overfishing and resource depletion, to coastal development and pollution, to the greenhouse gas emissions causing ocean acidification and warming
Consequences: Destroying habitats, increasing pollution, change in ocean conditions
Example: Large fish species are rapidly declining around Australia, according to the first continental diver census of shallow reef fish. Contrary to years of sustainability reports, our study indicates that excessive fishing pressure is contributing to decline of many Australian fish species
Ocean acidity
-
-
consequences: lowering the oceans pH, decline in marine organisms, destruction of coral reefs
-
Temperature increase
-
Causes: greenhouse gases released as people burn fossil fuels,
Consequences: mountain glaciers and rivers will start to disappear and mountainous regions will see more landslides, as the permafrost that held them together melts away. By 2100, sea levels could rise by a meter, displacing 10% of the world's population
Temp increase:Global warming is the unusually rapid increase in Earth's average surface temperature over the past century primarily due to the greenhouse gases, Earth has increased by a little more than 1° Celsius (2° Fahrenheit) since 1880
Rising sea levels
Rising sea levels: Since at least the start of the 20th century, the average global sea level has been rising, In 2014, global sea level was 2.6 inches above the 1993 average.
Causes: thermal expansion of sea water as it warms up, (2) melting of land ice and (3) changes in the amount of water stored on land.
Consequences: destructive erosion, wetland flooding, aquifer and agricultural soil contamination with salt, and lost habitat for fish, birds, and plants.
glacier melting
-
· 3 Causes - Higher Temperatures, Large amounts of CO2, Rising sea levels and temperatures
· 3 Consequences - Rising sea temperatures and levels, Destruction of polar icecaps and the melting of permafrost releases greenhouse gases.

severe wildfires
-
· 3 Causes - Higher temperatures, earlier snow melting and more human interaction
· 3 Consequences - Large Co2 deposits into the atmosphere, extinction of species and large rising global temperatures
