Special Education Process
Identifying Issues
Academic Issue
If an academic issue is observed, further evaluation will be done. The student can be shifted to the Learning Support(LS) program to help reduce the load. If disabilities affecting learning is observed, further attention may be required.
Disability identification
Consult student's physician/psychiatrist to properly identify disability after getting proper authorization by parents.
Student's Teachers will meet to create a dedicated education plan for the student.
Classroom accommodations will be given based on student's needs.
Differentiated learning to help student learn the curriculum material.
Curriculum modification(If student is taking IGCSE or IB) to help students keep up with the rest of class.
Monthly evaluations are performed and teachers meet again to discuss current status and improvements. Future planning is also performed.
If the issue is not improving, due to either the lack of resources or the effectiveness of the plan, external help will be required.
Notify parents of student's possible disability

Behavioral Issue
If a behavioral issue is observed, further evaluation must be done. The underlying cause will be identified and, with the combined effort of staff and parents, an attempt to remedy the cause will be done. If the behavioral issue is due to a disability, further attention may be required.

Consult student's physician/psychiatrist to properly identify disability after getting proper authorization by parents.
Student's Teachers meet with parents to establish a plan for the student
Identify what parents can do at home to help student adapt to disability.
Identify classroom accommodations to help students adapt to disability.
Establish groups to ensure student doesn't feel alienated.
If medication is required, a physician's notice must be given before students can use said medication in school. It will be kept with the school's health department.
Evaluation every month to track student's progress. Meeting between parents and teacher is performed and summaries are given as well as future plans.
If the issue is not improving, due to either the lack of resources or the effectiveness of the plan, external help will be required.
Notify parents of student's possible disability
If underlying cause is found and remedied, it will be reported to the student's parents.
Social Issue
If a social issue is observed, further evaluation will be performed. The staff will talk with the student in question and attempt to identify the cause of the issue. If the issue is caused by a disability, further attention may be required.

Student's Teachers and parents will meet to create a dedicated plan/pathway for students to follow to support their social development
Group activities to ensure students don't feel left out.
Pairing student up with a willing classmate to help build social skills.
Discuss at-home methods of improving student's social adaptability.
Monthly evaluation to summarize student's progress and to plan for future assistance.
If the issue is not improving, due to either the lack of resources or the effectiveness of the plan, external help will be required.
Notify parents of student's possible disability
If issue can be resolved without further intervention, parents will be notified of issue and the conclusion.
If no issue is found, student will enjoy a regular education based on the curriculum of the class.
If no issue is found, but problems still occurs, further research must be performed. Parents are consulted to help identify issues. External help may be required in the form of physicians.
