Rosa Parks
1944 September 3rd, Rosa Parks investigated a case of a gang rape in Abbeville of Racy Taylor who was kidnapped and rapped by six men, the six men later confessed by were never charged. This case provided an early spark for the Montgomery bus boycott. 1955 December 1st, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus which started the Montogomery bus boycott. December 5th of 1955 Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on the bus for a white person, then the Monday after that the Montogomery bus boycott was started. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosa_Parks

Emmett Till
On August 1955, Emmett Louis Till was a 14 year old African American. He was accused of offending a white woman in her family grocery store. On August 28th Roy Bryant and his half brother beat Till then they drove him down to a river and threw him in. Emmett Till's body was found three days later, his boy was so disfigured to a point that his great uncle could only identify him by an initialed ring. Emmett's mother decided to have a open casket funeral to show the world what the racist murderers has done to her son. On September 23rd, two weeks after Emmett was buried his mother and great uncle went to court, less then an hour since the trial started the all white jury was plunged "not guilty". https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/the-death-of-emmett-till
