World Languages
World Languages will continue to help prepare Psychology students to use French or Spanish in their professions of choice. Psychology and World Languages could also develop a study abroad trip to France to explore the origins of psychology

Theatre & Dance
expansion of theatre involvement with Shakespeare Scene Festival; explore the development of courses or units that amplify experiential learning.
History
Applied Communication
could push minors in history, geography more for our students
English
We should explore possible cross-listed classes that combine historical period study with literary movements.

Philosophy & IDS
-
English
English should be able to continue to contribute to IDS, but current faculty expertise and curriculum does not offer immediate areas to develop.
-
World Languages
World Languages could tailor concentrations in French and Spanish for IDST students. These concentrations could support IDST students’ career goals by preparing them to work in different fields with the ability to communicate in French and Spanish.

English
As noted in Mass Comm, English sees significant potential in collaboration with Theater.

World Languages
Theatre & Dance could collaborate to put on a play in French or Spanish. I have always wanted to see the Spanish playwright Federico Garc’a Lorca’s “La casa de Bernarda Alba” performed in Spanish at UA Little Rock.

Extended Education
-
English
English could contribut significantly to extended education, but we are currently stretch very thin. Faculty interest would have to be courted carefully.

-
World Languages
World Languages can offer courses in French and Spanish to the local community, as well as courses on travel to locations in Europe and Latin America

Would like to see more collaboration - we have expertise in classroom management and teaching students with special needs

World Languages
World Languages would like to develop a licensure program for post-baccalaureate students. Right now World Languages graduates who did not complete the Education Minor must complete a master’s degree to receive licensure.
Rhetoric and Writing
Applied Communication
joint writing/communication skills center in library, if we could overcome our differences; possibility of a joint PEAW course that could be a two-semester speaking/writing intensive course with peer mentors (cornerstone course) that would count as meeting Rhetoric course requirements & speech requirement (2 for 3 courses for students) - I’ve done this at another school; it would need lots of ground level discussion and buy-in.
English
Most of our faculty could teach in the composition track provided that the creative works and literary exposition were not excluded. This collaboration could be a risk to the MA, as the classes our faculty would most immediately connect with are often taught by GAs.
Philosophy & IDS
develop collaborative curricular and extra-curricular opportunities for public-facing philosophy writing

-
Communication
Applied Communication
English
As noted earlier, there are significant areas of overlap with Applied Comm in the linguistics minor. These could be developed as English electives for Secondary Ed and the BA with curriculum development.
Philosophy & IDS
more extensive recruiting for Ethics Bowl among ACOM students & deeper integration of Commuication content into course

World Languages
There exists the possibility of collaboration between World Languages and Applied Communication with regards to courses dealing with cultural competency and interpersonal communication.
