Positioning: working closely w radiographer-impt role in image capture, focus resol. Need to see: lips (to capture anterior spillage if any), hard palate, PPW, bifurcation of airway, oesophagus. Shoulders need to be down to avoid blocking view, remove large earrings, take off glasses. Pt must be upright (sitting, standing). Lateral plane first to test all fluids, food (majority of Ax done in this plane). Then do 1-2 fluid trials in AP plane to rule out unilateral weakness, can also see scan following bolus to oesophagus, stomach, also to check for barium aspiration in lungs)
