Ovarian Cancer - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Endometrial tissue
      - Epithelium of fallopian/uterine tubes
  - - - Develop on the epithelium surface of the ovary or the epithelium that lines cysts beneath the ovary surface, usually from a single cell ((Danhausen et al., 2019).
        
        This usually occurs as the result of loss of tumor suppression gene and activation of oncogenes (Danhausen et al., 2019).
        
        The cells responsible for causing ovarian cancer can be undifferentiated or resemble tissues within the abdomen such as endometrial cells or cells found within the fallopian/uterine tubes (Danhausen et al., 2019).
        
        Tumors classified based on cellular type
        
        Type 1
        
        Low grade, grow slowly and are genetically stable
        
        Type 2
        
        High grade, grow rapidly and usually have genetic mutations
    - - Come from primative germ cells of embrionic gonads (Danhausen et al., 2019).
        
        Can be malignant or benign
        
        Represents an error meiosis that results in the formation of ectoderm, endoderm, and mesoderm cell lines (Danhausen et al., 2019).
