- - - - 主谓齐全：In a review of 2,000 studies of human behavior that date back to the 1940s, two Swiss psychologists declared that since most of the studies had failed to control for variables such as social class and family size, none could be taken seriously.
      - 两套主谓结构之间要加连词;两句之间只有一个连词
        
        名词性从句
        
        主语从句：What I want is freedom. / It surprised me that John got fired. = That John got fired surprised me. 表语从句：My idea is that we need to go at once.
        宾语从句：I heard that John would visit his friend the next week.
        同位语从句：I was shocked by the news that John got fired.
        
        状语从句
        
        原因状语从句：John disliked his boss because the latter was much more handsome and successful.
        结果状语从句：He got up so early that he caught the first bus.
        目的状语从句：The boss asked the secretary to hurry up with the letters so that he could sign them.
        地点状语从句：Generally, air will be heavily polluted where there are factories.
        时间状语从句：The children ran away from the orchard(果园), the moment they saw the guard.
        条件状语从句：You will certainly succeed so long as you keep on trying.
        方式状语从句：
        
        When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
        2.Sometimes we teach our children the way our parents have taught us.
        3.She behaved as if she were the boss.
        比较状语从句：
        1.The house is three times as big as ours.
        2.The more you exercise, the healthier you will be.
        3.Oil is to machine what food is to men.
        让步状语从句：
        1.Much as I respect him, I can’t agree to his proposal.
        2.The old man always enjoys swimming even though the weather is rough.
        
        定语从句
        
        限制性定语从句：限制性定语从句对被修饰的先行词有限定制约作用,使该词的含义更具体,更明确。限制性定语从句不能被省略,否则句意就不完整
        
        This is the city where he used to live.
        
        This is the girl (whom) I met in the street.
        
        He is the man whose car was stolen
        
        Beijing is the place where (in which) I was born.
        
        Do you have the photo that we took together in our primary school?
        
        There are occasions when (on which) one must yield.
        
        Is this the reason why (for which) he refused our offer?
        
        非限制性定语从句：非限制性定语从句与先行词的关系不十分密切,只是对其作一些附加说明,不起限定制约作用。如果将非限制性定语从句省去,主句的意义仍然完整。非限制性定语从句可以1）就近修饰先行词；2）也可以表示前面整个句子的结果
        
        The weather turned out to be very good, which was more than we could expect.
        
        As we know, smoking is harmful to one's health.
        
        We'll graduate in July, when we will be free.
        
        He is not such a fool as he looks.
        
        The house,which I bought, has a lovely garden.
        
        This is the same book as I lost last week.
        
        Mr. Zhang, who came to see me yesterday, is an old friend of mine.
