after the fall of medieval art came crawling the new era of a new style of art that shocked millions of people with its vast colour and realism along with the use of showing the beauty of the human body and the uses of proportion to create a bigger and better understanding of how things look in the world compared to medieval art which was plain, boring and bland. art wasn't recognised until the rise of the renaissance which allowed new artists to learn about art and have a proper education along with other artists being able to create more and use more techniques that has never been uncovered before.
the middle ages was an interesting time period for it consisted many laws and class structures that heavily revolved around Christianity and religion which created a path for churches to spread the word of God to the people along with making the people during the time fear God. one big aspect of the medieval period was art and how it affected the people, from kings to peasants. art during the medieval period allowed people to learn stories through pictures since most people during the time couldn't afford education.
most of the art that was created during the medieval time period were funded by the church which allowed the church to create a bigger spread of Christianity to other parts of Europe. since most people didn't know how to read, people would attend mass and look at the pictures to learn more about the Bible as well as religious figures such as Jesus and the Virgin Mary. this made people become more educated and inspired to do more with their life along with being able to create pieces of art like seen in the churchs
medieval art during the middle ages were sold to the kings, knights and churches since the priceless pieces of art were so valuable that only the rich and wealthy could afford the priceless pieces of art, but the most under classes became rich after selling their art which allowed them to move forward in life and evolve as a better artist. during the middle ages, began wars and destruction of the medieval time period and came crushing down along with it was the art that were developed during the time.
the art during the renaissance opened eyes of the people as well as other artists which allowed artists to move from Christianity and focus on realism and depth which have been seen through most art today in modern art. Renaissance art influenced society was by allowing the rest of the world to realise something revolutionary. Art did not just have to be made to symbolise the Church. Renaissance art showed the world around it that art could be used to show emotion in people as well.
reasons/purpose
medieval art is often seen as an important aspect of our modern society that has evolved from simple, plain boring art to complex, realistic detailed master pieces. objects or inventions cant be created without a purpose. art during the medieval time period was often created though people who were illiterate who were able to create pieces of art for local churches (the church funded artists).
art in the renaissance was a dawn of a new era, a era that will provide more and better understanding of perspective and realism. renaissance art was produced to give a awareness of nature, a revival of classical learning and more individual views on man.
most of the art created during the time were mainly made for the Church since the medieval time period was mainly influenced by Christianity and the catholic church, for example the Crusades (a series of wars/battles to reclaim a "Holy land"). another reason that medieval art was developed was so that people were able record certain events along with providing information about the event.
the renaissance opened doors for gifted and talented and gifted people who wanted to create and sell as a way of escaping from Christianity and persecution and a easy way of making a lot of money. art during the renaissance was created mostly for the rich and museums/ some where to display art to gain recognition and attention from the local civilians and possibly other artists. But art was created to give more realism of the human body and to capture moments before the invention of the camera.

Medieval art was produced in many media, and works survive in large numbers in sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, stained glass, metalwork and mosaics, all of which have had a higher survival rate than other media such as fresco wall-paintings, work in precious metals or textiles, including tapestry.

Renaissance art is marked by a gradual shift from the abstract forms of the medieval period to the representational forms of the 15th century. Subjects grew from mostly biblical scenes to include portraits, episodes from Classical religion, and events from contemporary life
Painting in the Renaissance was most commonly done as fresco, or murals painted onto plaster walls. For frescos, pigments were mixed with water and directly painted onto the wall. However, some artists did paint on wood using tempera paints, which are pigments that use egg yolk as a binder

renaissance art is art that can be identified as art that was developed after the medieval time period which heavily focused on realism and proportion,and the slow less on Christianity and the use of story telling. After the fall of medieval art came a new open path for artists to define "what art is?" in their own way through their style and technique which allowed the use of new ways of painting to create "the master piece".
Medieval art is art that was developed during the middle ages in Europe with a simple and poor style which prevented the use of depth but was often used to tell stories and figures from Christianity to influence more people into becoming a Christians and followers of God. Medieval art was often characterised as religious since people in the medieval period were heavily influenced by the Church and Christianity which they often had to obey and follow.
