Safety on the Internet
Our Google Classroom and Virtual Classroom is an inclusive and safe space. It is important to understand not every website or digital tool will be safe. You should know how to protect your information and your digital footprint.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. Assessments are a way to see what you have learned. If you are copying someone else's work or modified work you've completed you are not showing your understanding.

If you do not understand a concept or do not have time to complete an assignment talk to Ms.Willis
There should always be a works cited or reference page in your work.
Be prepared to have conferences about your work. This might include:
discussing how you research and wrote the paper
where you found sources
which libraries or databases you used
providing a copy of a source

Completion of Assignments
Discussions, group work and assignment are different ways Ms.Willis sees your understanding of the content and that you are reaching your learning goals. For this reason, all work needs to be completed.
Different activities will assess different aspects of your learning. It is important to complete all activities. Why?
some activities will show Ms. Willis information you previously understood, things you are interested in, or your goals. This will help Ms.Willis create activities that help you learn and develop skills to reach your goals.
some activities will give an opportunity for instant feedback. Your peers and you can reflect on learning. This way you can build understanding together.
-some activities allow for personalized feedback that will help you see the strengths, areas for improvement, and next steps
-some activities will showcase all you've learned.
How do you complete your work?

Group work
Collaborative learning is a useful skill to develop for academia and your future. It is important to define roles in a group and ensure that everyone is contributing.

be created by Ms. Willis considering the strengths, interests and skills of the class
have all communications and group planning shared with Ms.Willis
If there is an issue with group and you cannot find a way to resolve it please contact Ms.Willis
Consequences
What to expect when a classroom expectation has not been met
For now, this concept map will show you the expectations for the course. Once we have completed the activities in this module, Ms.Willis will create a document that list all expectations clearly. This will be in our Virtual Classroom and I will email this to you and your parent(s) and/or guardian(s)
Potential Consequence in Place:
a private message reminding you of classroom expectations and what you can do to improve.
email, phone call, Google meet with parent(s) and/or guardian(s)
a written, audio recorded or video recorded apology to classmate or teacher
an incomplete on an assessment
modification of privileges on discussion boards, Googe Classrooms and other shareable content
Cyberbullying & Flaming
Neither cyberbully or flaming will be tolerated in this classroom. There is a zero tolerance policy for this behaviour in person, and it will extend to our online community.

Attendance
You should be attending our class for at least the same amount of time you would if you were in a face-to-face classroom.
