What Aspect of my Life can I Explore through my Artmaking?
My Creative Aspect
My Sporty Aspect
My Academic Aspect
My Passion for Fashion and Sewing
My Musical Talents
My Artistic Vision
Ever since I was young, I have had a natural inclination and attraction towards art, whether painting, sculpting, drawing, or film-making. Art is a vessel that I can focus all of my energy into to make me happy, solve problems, and even act as a beautiful form of therapy. It is a monumental part of my life.
Just as Art comes easily to me, so does Sewing. My whole life, conceptual ideas have been easy to manifest, and therefore, Fashion is such an enjoyable hobby, all throughout the process from designing a piece to even Sewing it can be so fulfilling. It is also an enjoyable hobby, as I sew in class in Castle Hill with a dozen old ladies who have become my mentors and my friends.
From the age of 8 till around 12, I did all sorts of Musicals and Plays with my siblings ranging from Oklahoma, to Wizard of Oz, to even yearly Christmas Musicals at Hillsong. When I was young, my mother signed me up at Hillsong for dancing, singing and acting lessons and I continued up until the age of around 14. Whilst I have an inherent attraction to musical arts, as I grew older I became too cautious about my self image and shy, and unfortunately I ceased performing in public. Now, my musical talents do not leave the doors of my house. Haha
My Interest in Soccer
My Newfound talents at Badminton
Throughout my young life, I hopped between numerous extracurricular activities such as Taekwondo, Tennis, and Competitive Swimming, never truly finding the proper sport for me. However, last year, despite my initial opinions, I tried out Badminton, and completely love it from the get-go. Since I played tennis for 5 years, Badminton came naturally to me, and I haven't stopped since.
Coming from an inherently sporty family, I have played soccer since I was 4, and whilst I admittedly am not the most skilled player, I really enjoy the sport. I have played in the same team as my twin every year, and I guess it is just a fun sport due to the teamwork aspect.
My Struggles with Mathematics
My Inherent English Abilities
My Family
My Connection with my Brother
As is the case with most people - some academic aspects do not vibe with me. For me, my brain is extremely creative and not analytical in any sense - making it easy to manifest Conceptual Ideas and to Write Poetry, Essays, yet hard to make calculate what others would deem simple. My whole life I have struggled with it, however, rather than seeing it as a weakness, I see it as being unique in my own capacity. I have capabilities far greater than others and vice versa, and that is okay!
Naturally, I love writing. Whether writing poetry, narratives, essay's, if I find a topic that I am passionate about, I can write for days. I have an inclination towards writing, as, just like artmaking - it is a vessel that I can focus my energy into. Additionally, it is also a means of escaping my mind for at least a few hours, and escaping to a world that I have manifested in a narrative, or opportunity to delve deeply into the history and premise of a specific topic.
Interest in World History
My Future Aspirations
My Passion for Architecture
My friends and family always joke around that I have undiagnosed OCD and that I am a perfectionist, and this notion can be observed through my daily life. I always need to have control over small aspects of my life, as it gives me a sense of control in this crazy world. Architecture has always been an aspect that has appealed to me due to the appealing structure and repetition. Ever since I was 12, I have been steadily compiling together photographs and a knowledge that I may need for the future. I currently have a variety of Pinterest Boards dedicated to different aspects of Architecture, as even though it is a prospect further into my future, when I am stressed and feeling confused about life and my future, it always helps to focus on it.
My Passion for Fashion Design
Fashion has been something that has been so intrinsically built into my personality and life, and I enjoy it so much. Ever since I was really young, I used to sketch dress designs with my grandma, and have fashion design competitions with my cousins, which I would always win. Everything about it - whether picking out fabrics, learning the theory behind sewing and different stitches, and manifesting different clothing ideas, has been something that comes so easily to me. I often gain my inspiration for my fashion sketches from everyday life - people, architecture, you name it. Most everyday objects and machines have been inspired by everyday life, and therefore, that is where I gain my inspiration from.
My Interest in the Human Mind
Whilst I am a naturally introverted being, I have always had a natural interest in the Human Mind and Psychology. The notion that everyone's brains work so differently disregarding nature vs nature is so interesting. In Year 10, when we did the Careers Test, the 2nd suggestion on my list was Psychology - above Fashion Design, so I can't help but wonder if it is my life's calling. Haha.
As an identical twin, I immediately have a stronger connection with him than the average person would with their sibling. We are two halves of the same whole - polar opposites with diametrically opposing skills, attributes and personalities. Yet we are inseparable. When we were young, of course we had different interests, however we made a pact that if one wanted to do something, the other had to as well. So if one wanted to do Taekwondo, the other would to. Same goes with soccer, singing, dancing and acting lessons, badminton, musicals, etc. We are extremely close, even to the extent that upon a single glance I can practically read exactly what he is thinking. A common preconception among twins is that they can read each others minds, and whilst we can't read each others minds, we have spent so much time together that we practically can tell what each other are thinking at all times.
