Types: concussion, wounds, and fractures.

IMPORTANT ASSESSMENTS
Identify the type of head injury: mild, minimal, moderate, or severe

PATIENT EDUCATION

Prevent head injuries by using a helmet when playing sports or riding a scooter, bike, or skateboard
-

Rest, apply ice as directed if needed

Get medical care if the headache gets worse, feeling confused, or vomiting
Call 911 if difficulty staying awake, blurred vision, pupils are larger or different, or if blood or fluid comes out of your mouth or nose
