What is the most effective way for greenhouse farmers to have success growing non-seasonal vegetables in winter?

What is considered success?
How do you know its growing?
Winter
What is it?
How does it effect plants?
the definition of successful is producing a desired or intended result https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/effective (3/08/2020)
Successful --> accomplishing an aim or purpose https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/effective (3/08/2020)
Desired --> strongly desired or wished https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/effective (3/08/2020)
Intened --> planned or meant https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/effective (3/08/2020)
Result --> a consequence, effect, or outcome of something https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/effective (3/08/2020)
its a process of cultivation of crops and vegetables in greenhouse ecosystem environments
its a practice that allows farmers to increase their performance, while improving the quality of products, isolating them in micro ecosystems
these micro ecosystems have the ideal conditions for the plants to best grow and stay healthy, strong and beautiful
winter is the coldest season of the year, in the northern hemisphere from December to February and in the southern hemisphere from June to August. https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/effective (3/08/2020)
winter consists of cold weather, the cold freezes the cells in plants, which causes damage and interrupts the pathways for nutrients and water to flow. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/why-cold-affects-plants.htm#:~:text=In%20this%20way%2C%20so%20too,nutrients%20and%20water%20to%20flow.&text=Desiccation%2C%20sunscald%2C%20salt%20damage%2C,plants%20are%20affected%20by%20cold. (04/08/2020)
unexpected drops in temperatures often causes plants to die as water can freeze inside the plant's cells causing it to expand and destroy the plant from the inside. this can cause plants to wilt, even after the cold and frsoty weather has passed. https://www.envii.co.uk/garden-blog-post/cold-weather-affects-plants/ (04/08/2020)
the cold weather can freeze the outside of the plant and freeze plant's surrounding soil causing desiccation, thus interfering with the plant's water supply. https://www.envii.co.uk/garden-blog-post/cold-weather-affects-plants/ (04/08/2020)
cold weather can decease plant enzyme activity. this then disrupts plant nutrient intake because plants secrete enzymes to digest surrounding materials for soil. consequently, this can stunt the growth or more severely cause the plant to die https://www.envii.co.uk/garden-blog-post/cold-weather-affects-plants/ (04/08/2020)
its a degree or measure of succeeding, favourable or desired outcome
what does plants require to grow successfully?
Temperature -> most plants prefer cooler night time temperatures and warmer daytime temperatures. However too hot could burn the plants and too cold could freeze the plants.
Water -> to carry moisture and nutrients back and forth between the roots and leaves
Nutrients -> plants needs nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium for them to grow, Nitrogen to make the leaves green, Phosphorus to make the flowers big and to make the roots strong, Potassium helps the plants to fight off diseases.
Air -> plants require clean air, dirty air caused by smoke, gases, and other pollutants can be very harmful to plants as it limits their ability to take in carbon dioxide from the air to photosynthesis
Soil -> in addition to essential nutrients found in soil, soil provides an anchor for plant roots and helps in supporting the plants
Light -> light is used as energy for making food by photosynthesising. tool little light can cause plants to become weak and to produce fewer flowers and fruits
Space -> plants also require space in order for it to grow as their roots expand and for the plant to grow freely
Time -> plants take time to grow, hence requires time and patience for plants to grow
it should have plenty of healthy growth
most plants should display green leaves with bright, even colour
plants should be pliable and firm with a green cast on the inside
the roots should also be pliable but firm as well
How do you measure a plants growth?
by the size of your leaves
growth rate formula (S2 - S1)/ T
-> S1 = first measurement, S2 = second measurement, T = number of days
count the leaves on your plant
if they are photosynthesising
you can measure this by the co2 intake and output of plants

What are seasonable vegetables
when a fruit or vegetabel is in season, it means that at that time of the year it is at its peak, in terms of flavour or harvest
what are some non seasonable vegetables?
lettuce
Green Beans
Eggplants
Tomatoes
Kale
Cabbage
Beet Greens
Endivie
