DAY 2 (28/07/2020) by Kamalia Shahira Binti Kamaruzzaman (2016807344) PH2408A
Bibasal creptitations
There's crackling sound
There's excess fluid in the lungs
Why heart failure patient needs to restrict their intake of fluid?
As more fluid in the bloodstream makes it harder for the heart to pump
to avoid the accumulation of fluid in the feet or face
when the heart doesn't work as well, blood flow slows and backs up in the veins in the legs. This causes fluid to build up in the tissues
In order to avoid overloading the heart
Recommended intake of fluid in HF patient
Not more than 500cc/500ml per day
Equivalent to a small bottle of mineral water
Hospital Acquired Pneumonia
Changed to T, Augmentin and continued for 3 days after discharge
Why? Because Ceftriaxone is not available i tablet form, so give T. Augmentin instead
IV Ceftriaxone was given to the patient
