Medical Interventions: General medical interventions for the patient in shock are directed toward maintaining perfusion of vital organs until the cause is found and treated. Care is directed toward correcting or reversing the altered circulatory component or components, including blood volume, myocardial contractility, blood flow, and vascular resistance, in addition to
improving oxygen delivery to the cells. Interventions to increase oxygen delivery and a combination of fluid, pharmacologic, and mechanical therapies are implemented to maintain tissue perfusion. (Linton, 032019, p. 156)
