FL is a means of communication that enable us to use the lang. in the oral & written forms of speech.
As a means of communication the TL faces verbal restriction which is limited by a topical selection of material
Learners should master a FL as a means of communication & know how to use it in oral & written forms within the scope outlined in the curriculum/syllabus
The responsibility lies upon the teacher to ensure the anticipated results in each purposeful activityband form of communication
The ability to communicate in any lang. consists of a number of subsidiary skills such as enunciation, accentuation, fluency and prosody
Learning a FL enhances students' mental powers, sharpens their wits, develops their intelligence and broadens their outlook
Practical mastery of lang. subskills & skills are represented in the curriculum & syllabus for every stage.
Lang. study is a subskills & skills-forming process & an important stage is the elementary stage
The function of primary stage is to incalculate good subskills in a systematic way to let learners go astray in their later work
Every technique, method, exercise, drill or device should be used to get their immediate purpose & bring them nea to their ultimate goal
Practical goals encompass certain volumes of lang. material: phonetic, lexical, & grammatical items
Some of this material is subject to reproductive asimilation & some to perceptive; these are also known as active & passive lang. materials
They determne the learners' activities, their work with basic & ancillary means of instruction, incalculation of sub-skills & ability to understand English, to read aloud & silently, & to speak within a range of situations
The achievement of Practical goal in FLT makes possible the realization of educational, cultural & developmental goals
The State educational standard stresses that communicative competence presupposes an adequate proficience in a FL as a means of communication, instruction & independent learning
Long-term goals, interim aims & short-term objectives help teacher to formulate concrete, specific tasks for the lesson or part of it.
The length of the course, the number of hours & the compement of the group are also accounted for in achieving practical goals
The time budget for LL is the main factor in mastering & maintaining lang, proficiency
Learning a FL enables the pupils to acquire new means of perceiving & expressing their thoughts about objects, notions, phenomrna & their relationship
