Maintenances of Water Reticulation
Problem 2 : Broken water main
1) Firstly, use the cable locator to avoid digging through gas or electricity lines. After that, spray a marks or line on the construction place.
3) Turn off the main water valve that controls the flow or water to these pipes
4) Excavate the marked area to reach the pipe using the excavator
5) Remove the soil around the pipe to ease the maintenance process
6) Cut the damaged section of pipe
7) Remove the damaged section away
8) Install the coupler at the existing water main pipe and the new pipe to connect both pipes
9) After connecting both pipe, we need to refill the trench to prevent the pipe from bending and bursting when the water pressure is on
10) Turn on the water supply to make sure the water flows.
2) Next, after we identify the place that involved under the construction, we need to set up traffic control to make sure the others will noticed.
Problem 1 : Leaking gasket at the bottom of the fire hydrant
1) Take the fire hydrant off
2) Replace the gasket
