HOW TO BUILD A RETAINING WALL
1st stage
your plan is depending the height of your wall
use tube gravel to make sure your wall stay flat and gonna be foundation, also keep them from waving around
designing and plan the wall
use type of block that easy to install and cheap
some case you need a drainage pipe if you have a tall wall
behind the block, six inch of gravel is needed for drainage
2nd stage
fill the hole with gravel
add the gravel base and do this in two inch of layer
dig the hole about 20 inch wide
tamp each layer really well
make sure the level before you add the gravel base
wet the gravel with water to help it pack down
dig a trench
start first layer of retaining wall with put a block
TIPS TO ADD BLOCK
first layer block is most important
make sure your gravel and dirt is totally flat
3rd stage
add dirt front of the block and pack that down
when finish the first layer, add the block
tamp that gravel
make sure to stagger the seems
add gravel behind the first block
backfill with gravel and dirt
tamp the gravel and dirt until it flat
top layer of the wall
put some top soil until it same level with your last block
top two is necessary if you want more secure
add some glue at the top block to make sure it secure
do not tamp the top soil because you can plant some staff and grass there
