The number of hospitals has grown by a lot like at starting India had just 2,717 hospitals, in 1991 there were 11,174 hospitals, in 2000 there were 18,218 hospitals!
India gets a large number of medical tourists. They come for treatment for cheap from different countries.
India is the 3rd largest generator of medications in
the world and it is also a great exporter of medications.

Most doctors settle in urban areas rather than in rural areas, so the people in the villages sometimes have to travel very long distances for a doctor.
About 5 lakh people die of tuberculosis every year, and there are roughly 2 million cases of malaria every year.
India cant provide clean drinking water to all people. 21% of all the diseases which spread are waterborne.

When people own a pollution-free environment and clean drinking water, they will most probably be healthy
When people own a poor and untidy environment and unclean drinking water, adequate food or live in cramped conditions, they will most probably not be healthy.
Hakim Sheik is a member of (PBKMS), and he was injured badly. His friends and family took him to a hospital, but all the hospital beds were occupied. He had to spend 14 hours in a critical condition until a spare bed was free. The people of PBKMS then went to the supreme court to protest against this problem.
They work under the supervision of a doctor in the Primary health centre (PHC). This centre covers many villages in the rural area.
