Qualitative research is a development of concepts which help us to understand social phenomenon in natural settings, giving due emphasis to the meaning, experiences and views of the participants.

Method that involves asking questions, listening to and recording audio from participant’s views.
structured, semi-structured, or unstructured format in an in-depth manner.
Can ask questions about experiences, opinions, feelings, and knowledges to participant(s)
Advantages:

- method has a better response rate than mailed questions.

Observation

Very useful when the researcher need more informations about a specific research questions to formulate a more complete and accurate survey
Helps the researcher when the study is a behavior in a natural setting is vital to their research questions
Advantages:
- can access to a large group of participants and gain faster data collection
- lower costs

Focus group discussion
Focused and interactive session with a group small enough for everyone to have a chance to talk and large enough to provide diversity of opinions

Disadvantages:
- results are may not projectable
- potentially biased results due to group influence
