        Observing participants in action and recording the observations is a common way to collect data in action research

        Develop questions beforehand or simply incite an open-ended exchange
        
        Questionnaires and attitude scales
        
        Questionnaires can be used when there is no time to individually question students or small group of students.
        
        Advantageous when a large number of responses are needed
      - Readily available data
        
        Add validity to the analysis, seek readily available information, or naturally occuring data, that can serve as data

        They should be allowed to respondent anonymously
        
        Build comparison into data collection
        
        Identified the specific aspects of performance that will be examined
        
        No single data collection approach can provide appropriate data for all of a teacher's questions or topics.
