Red flag signs
shortness of breath
asymmetric breath sounds or pulse
Signs of hypoperfusion: confusion, ashen color, diaphoresis
new heart murmurs
pulsi paradoxus > 10mm Hg
Abnormal vital signs: Tachycardia, bracardia, tachypnea, hypotension
Pain
patient experiences a stabbing or sharp needle-like pain. It is important to know the location, duration, charcter and quality of the pain.
note when the pain is present: does it occur during rest or exertion, respiration or coughing
At what position does the patient experience the pain, ia it when lying down or when leaning forward
pain is treated by use of acetaminophen or opiods
TESTS:
ECG
Chest x-ray (basic test)
Pulse oximetry
Get to know the history of the present illnessses
other diseases affects the condition of the patient and the reaction to medication.Disorders to consider include: cardiovascular, GI, neurologi, Pulmonary or musculoskeletal syastems
age of the patient: chest pain in children and eldely persons different.And younger person recover more faster than the eldely persons
assess symptoms:
diaphoresis
syncope
voimiting
dyspnea
nausea
fever and chills
cough
leg swelling or pain
