Example: The Trojan War showed that the Greeks struggled with their personal growth i.e. sons had trouble growing into manhood because they did not have a good masculine figure for 10+ years

Analyze to find the origin, development, organization, and functioning of human social relations and human institutions
Example: The Trojan War myths, specifically the Odyssey, showed how war affect society.
Anthropologists
Analyze to find the origins, physical and cultural development, beliefs of humans, and customs of cultures
Example: Achilles choosing to live a short, glorious life=The Greeks valued honor and victory
Folklorists
Found the traditional beliefs, legends, and customs of people

To see what science was at the time, as well as to see what the physical and material world looked like
Example: In the Odyssey, the Aegean Sea is described as a dangerous body of water through the myth of the god Poseidon. whom Homer says is trying to sink Odysseus' ship.
Philosophers
Analyze to find the principles of being, knowledge, or conduct
Example: Hera forcing Heracles to kill his wife and children. This provides insight into the Greeks' view of freedom: a fundamentally good man is forced to deal with actions that are beyond his control.
