He claimed he was going to 'make Germany pay as he thought it's what the British should say.
He desired 'righteousness' so he did not seek vengeance. He said the peace shouldn't be rough : it will only spark another war in a couple of years.
He ALSO decided to extend the British Empire, retain British sea power and increasing the trade in Britain

He was the Prime Minister of France.
He wanted revenge, and to punish the Germans for what they had done. he wanted to make Germany pay for the damage done during the war and also wanted to weaken Germany, so France would never be invaded again.
All three men wanted to stop a war ever happening again, but they did not agree about how to do this. They wanted different things from the peace, and they did not get on well.

Great Depression It was the longest, deepest, and most widespread depression of the 20th century. The depression originated in the United States and became worldwide The cost of war reparations for Germany. Expansion of US production and the increase of tariffs- the markets were flooded with US goods for sale. Products from the US were cheap and plentiful. This forced other nations to sell their products cheaply, causing them to lose needed profits.
