Employee Social Security Act 1969

OBJECTIVE
: To provide social security protection to all insured persons and their dependents through social security scheme based on the concept of a caring society in line with the National Development policy
Employment Injury Scheme
1.Provide protection to an employee against accident or an occupational disease arising out of and in the course of his employment
2.The protection under this scheme covers the following:
i)Industrial accident
ii)Commuting accident
iii)Accident during emergency
iv)Occupational disease
Invalidity Scheme
An insured person shall be considered as suffering from invalidity by reason of specific morbid condition of permanent nature either incurable or is not likely to be cured and no longer capable or earning, by work corresponding to his strength and physical ability, at least 1/3 of the customary earning of a sound insured person.
2.The scheme provides 24-hour coverage to employee who suffers from invalidity or death due to any cause and not related to his employment
Self Employment Injury Scheme
The scheme for self-employment taxi drivers or individual carrying out similar services took affect on 13 June 2017
2.This social protection was accorded under the provision of the Self Employment Social Security Act 2017
The duration of the protection is 12 months from the date and time the contribution is paid and validated by the payment receipt
Employee Provident Fund Act 1991
Overview
1.The EPF is a social security institution formed according to the Laws of Malaysia
2.Employees Provident Fund Act 1991 provides retirement benefits for members through management of their saving in an efficient and reliable manner
3.The EPF also provides a convenient framework for employers to meet their statutory and moral obligation to their employees
4.Private and Non-Pensionable Public Sector employees

Any other channel approved by the EPF
Dividend
EPF ensures that your saving are secure and receive reasonable dividends. In fact, it guarantees a minimum of 2.5% dividend annually
Children and Young Persons Employment Act 1966
Children Employee
Child means any person who has not completed his fifth teen year of age.
2.A child may be employed in light suitable work to his capacity in his family undertaking.
3.Working hour:
-Between 8 in the morning and 7 in the evening
Young Person Employee
1.Young person means any person who is not being a child, has not completed his eight teen year of age
2.Young person may be employed in the same circumstance as children as described above and also in any work suitable to his capacity
3.Employment as domestic servant
4.Working hour:
-Between 8 in the evening and 6 in the morning

1.Any oral agreement whereby one person agrees to employ
2.Contract services shall not contain any condition restrict right of employees to join participate in or organization trade union

Workmen's Compensation Act 1952
The Person Covered
1.Any worker who work under any corporation who employ mo less than 5 workmen
2.Worker of non-manual in pubic sector whose income is less RM 500/month
3.All manual workers irrespective of their salary and who is not covered under Employee Social Security Act 1969
Amount of Compensation
The maximum amount if permanent disability is RM 23,000
Total payment for death case is RM 23,000
The Person Expected
1.Non-manual worker whose earning exceed RM 500/month
2.Worker of non-manual in public sector whose income is less than RM 400/month
3.Workers of non-manual in private sector whose income is less RM 500/month
4.All manual worker irrespective of their salary and who is not covered under Employee Social Security Act1969
Employer's Liability for Compensation
1.If the workmen injured by accident during working, his employer have to pay compensation and any expenses incurred in the treatment and rehabilitation of such workmen
2.An employer shall not be liable to pay compensation to workman resulting from an accident if it is proved that the injury to the workman is directly attributable to the influence of alcohol or a drug, unless such injury result in the death
3.No compensation shall be payable under this Act in respect of any disablement or death resulting from deliberate self-injury
