The team meets and learns about the opportunities and challenges. The orientation period includes some confusion and uncertainly.
The group starts to sort itself out and gain each other’s trust. Members often challenge group goals and struggle for power.
All team members take responsibility and want to work for success. It will develop a feeling of group cohesion and identity.
The team members are now competent. Making decisions on their own. Conflicts are resolved by group discussion, caring about mutual goals, and not emotions.
It is characterized by the disbandment of the group. Members of the group often experience feelings of closure and sadness as they prepare to leave.
An example of this is the traditional teaching method, in which the students have to report to the teacher their assignations.
Also commonly referred to as task forces. A group of people who work together to accomplish goals for some time. Example: committees.
Created by an organization to meet goals in an unspecified period. Example, customer service department.

Members compare themselves with other members. Example: A model group that a class would like to be at some point.
