The Effect of Burn on Digestive System, Hanny Medi (69820) - Coggle Diagram
The Effect of Burn on Digestive System
burn injury
duodenal ulcers
Curling : classical lesion
decrease blood flow in the splanchnic circulation
cause intestinal ischemia
activate the neutrophils and tissue-bound enzymes such as xanthine oxidase
destroy gut mucosal barrier and resulting bacterial translocation
endotoxin potent activators of macrophages and neutrophils
lead to massive amount of oxidants, arachidonic acid metabolites and protease
local and systemic inflammation in burn-induced tissue damage
disruption on intestinal epithelial barrier
increased intestinal permeability & subsequent translocation of bacteria and/or endotoxin from gastrointestinal tract
cause systemic inflammatory response syndrome, sepsis, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome
extensive burn injuries
extravasation of plasma leading to hypovolemic shock
Cause ischaemia and hypoxia of tissue, and lesion related to poor perfusions on the intestinal tract
acute burn trauma
cause by hot water scalding
decrease nutrient absorption and DNA synthesis in small intestine
