Multifunctional Living
Target Market
-
Often audiences in poorer communities who can't afford to buy two products with one use but can afford one product with multiple uses.
-
Younger audiences who are perhaps in full time education but live in small living areas and with low budgets.
Older audiences who are perhaps starting to have children and in need of different uses for one product.
-
Problems that exist.
-
Seperate items like furniture are expensive because more material is used etc meaning low budgent audiences can't afford it.
Possible Solution.
Cheaper materials used for furniture and combing them into one peice of furniture which does both problems.
Audiences living space is small due to perhaps low wages or living in urban areas which are quite expensive e.g. London
Possible Solution.
Use reasonable priced materials and sell prodcut at a reasonable price so both target audiences of having low income and having small living space due to living in a expensive area are both considered into the end product.
Products are often focused on one purpose. For example a bed is made primarily for sleeping in meaning often they waste space which could perhaps be used for storage.
Possible Solution.
Make the focus of the product on the initial task as well as the problems caused by the product. For example a beds initail focus is to provide an area to sleep in but could also solve the problem of loss storage by having drawers underneath the bed.
